Mike is the "Grand Old Man" of Smith Engineering, starting at the company in 1980. Mike is well known through the "hi-tech" manufacturing community as a significant and reliable source of process knowledge in regard to high purity water.

Mike is an avid Moto-Cross racer and has the medical record to prove it. Mike is also the proud owner of "somewhere around a dozen" motorcycles.
Tom Devereux
Vice President of Operations; Design Engineer
Background:
Tom has worked in the water purification industry for more than twenty years. Tom began selling DI and designing equipment for an Osmonics distributor and continues in that role for Smith Engineering.

Tom is a former Navy Nuclear Power Technician, and graduated from the prestigious Navy Nuclear Power School in Orlando, FL in 1985.
Bob Lucas
Vice-President of Sales & Marketing
Background:
Bob joined Smith Engineering in March 2008 and brings a strong background in service and distribution. Bob has over twenty years of experience in the areas of fluid handling, process filtration, and process piping, including sanitary process. Bob is married with three boys.

Bob is a former Marine Infantry Officer and Gulf War veteran.
Jeff Kerkow
Service Manager, Design Engineer
Background:
Jeff has been with Smith Engineering for over 14 years, before Smith Engineering Jeff was facilities manager for a pharmaceutical manufacturer, and previous to that was facilities supervisor at a start- up biotech firm. Jeff has over 20 years experience in the areas of water treatment, fluid handling, pharmaceutical manufacturing, equipment design and procurement. Jeff is married has two boys ages 24 and 21
Lenny Klosinski
Electronics Technician
Background:
Lenny has worked in the water purification industry for over twenty years, the last 16 of which have been at Smith Engineering. Lenny supports manufacturing and service with exceptional skills in electrical design layout, repair, testing and calibration. Lenny has a daughter and son, both in their early twenties, and a grandson age 3.

Lenny is an amateur radio operator and also works part time for a professional recording studio.
Jerry Sullivan
Service Technician
Background:
Jerry has been with Smith Engineering for over 20 years. Attention to detail and outstanding customer service are traits he has brought to his work for Smith Engineering. Before Smith Engineering Jerry worked for a bulk material handling and blending manufacturing company. Jerry is married with one daughter, age 19.
Kari Gilman
Customer Service
Background:
Kari has been with Smith Engineering since 2008. Kari has had 20+ years experience in customer service in roles such as owner/operator of her own business, director/manager of a childcare center, receptionist at a clinic and customer service/trainer at a regional insurance office. Kari is married with three children, . She loves reading and baking and of course shopping.

Kari has a phobia of walking on ice (frozen lakes) or swimming in any body of water where she can’t see to the bottom.
Jim Fahey
Background:
Jim has been working with Smith Engineering for a little over ten years building, installation, and servicing equipment. Jim is currently working in the Shipping and Receiving Department and is also in charge of Inventory Control. Before working at Smith Engineering Inc., Jim worked with facility and production maintenance. Jim is married to Julie and has one stepdaughter, Ashley.

Jim is an avid dart player and enjoys making homemade beef jerky!
Pam Williams
Background:
Pam joined Smith Engineering in 1997. She served the company for more than 13 years in various capacities: Billing, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Human Resources, Customer Service, and Receiving. Her newest specialties include Payables and Collections (don’t be afraid, Pam is nice & easy to work with!)
Pam has a BFA in graphic design and worked from home publishing a small magazine. She has donated her talent for school yearbooks, church projects and painting wall murals at Bluff Creek Elementary’s early childhood room. She served several years as secretary for the PTO.

Rick Kroells
Service/DI
Background:
Rick has been with Smith Engineering for over 11 years and has worked in most all jobs in the company including regeneration, build, and service. Rick is a single man, but sneaks to his cabin in Northern Minnesota with his significant other whenever he can.

Rick runs a karaoke business part time and has been doing so for 13 years.
Joanie Lubeck
Purchasing Manager
Background:
Joanie has been with Smith Engineering since December, 1997. For many years all Joanie did was Scheduling for DI and Service, Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing and answer the phone. Now as “just” the Purchasing Manager, Joanie’s knowledge of Company Operations still keeps her very involved in “everything.” Joanie was married in 2000 and has one daughter born in 2002.

Ron Fuller
Regeneration Specialist
Background:
Ron has been with Smith Engineering since 2001, operating the two bed regeneration system. Ron and his wife of 28 years Judy live in Chaska, and they have a daughter in school at Augsburg.

Ron worked as a Carver County Reserve Sherriff’s Deputy for 8 years and as a volunteer firearms instructor for the DNR for the past 10 years.
Scott Finley
Background:
Scott Finley is one of Smith Engineering’s newest employees. Scott joined Smith in May 2009 in a sales capacity after over 25 years in the semiconductor industry. Scott formerly worked in sales management positions with Entegris/Fluoroware, Empak, Futurestar and Levitronix. Scott has two grown daughters, one grandson and three adult step children.
